Wolfgang Eberhardt, President of the GASB and honorary member of the Asil Club, one of the big names in the world of Arabian horse breeding, who together with his wife Sylvia had been an active breeder for 20 years, unexpectedly passed away at age 71.

For many years he organized the All Nations Cup with utmost committment and as Chairman of the GASB he rendered outstanding service, especially in times of crisis. It was one of his great merits to promote our Arabian horses, whatever their blood line. His life's work should be a role model for the breeders and friends of our  Arabian horses to engage in honorary work for the governance and service of our studbook and breeders associations.

His selfless, volunteer work as speaker at the HH Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Asil Cup 2014 in Castell will always be remembered, an event that, like so many others, benefited greatly from his skill and experience. We pay tribute to Wolfgang Eberhardt for his objectivity and his neutrality. He met everyone openly, amicably and objectively, respected everyone and always stood up for the cause.

Our heartfelt sympathies goes to his wife Sylvia and his family, whom we wish a lot of strength in this difficult time.
